One pleases - silent when shooting video. Focusing is smart, there are no aberrations, distortions and other things. This is my first 35mm lens. I find this lens very versatile and fun. Focusing is instant and colors and contrast are superb. The size is just right for long walks with it. It even fits in my jacket pocket when I take out my camera. I bought it during the Christmas sale so it was cheaper than usual.

35mm is my favorite prime lens. Not too wide, not too long. Even with an open aperture, this lens delivers sharp images. It's good that Nikon releases it earlier. The only small downside is that the focus motor is audible, contrary to the product description. It's not loud by any means, but if you use the built-in microphones to record videos you'll definitely hear it.

+ Excellent image quality + Very sharp, low distortion + Fast and precise AF - no "feel" 1.4 , even if only the Leica lens. It's a fairly large but lightweight and well-built 35mm lens that can handle the resolution of the Z7 sensor. What I was hoping for was a 1.4 version that would come close (but probably never equaled) my Leica Summilux 35. Overall more versatile than the 50mm lens (which is also great).
