Nice basic lens - Lenses

This lens was purchased as an exact replacement for the lens that came with my mother's Nikon D50. Somehow she or one of my sisters broke off part of the original to keep it from sticking to the camera so I found this lens for her. It's not the fastest, but the images are sharp and clear. 28-80mm is a good range for versatility at family gatherings or in situations where you need to take a lot of shots at different settings and don't have time to switch lenses. Amazing little lens

While researching landscape and architecture lenses on various internet forums and review sites I came across several references to this old lens. (see [.] to read the one that prompted my decision). Turns out this is an old whale lens for an old Nikon camera. It's plastic. It's silver-colored (although you can also find black). And it shouldn't be that good. A used treasure among camera lenses

A small, lightweight plastic lens that far exceeds its low price. I'm really impressed with the images this thing produces. I bought it hoping to find out what focal length I would use more often before settling on a prime lens. I tend to use longer focal lengths because I make portraits more intimate/understated.
