Great inexpensive lens. Cheaper than some wall lenses!

For those of us who don't want to pay for a newer 24-70 f2.8 or 28-70 f2.8, this is the lens for you. It's also significantly lighter and smaller than either of those two lenses, although you obviously lose some range at the back. The optical quality is absolutely superb and the push-pull zoom mechanism works great. Highly recommended lens

Couldn't be happier!

The lens arrived on time, perfectly packaged and in amazing condition. Perfectly clean - like new! I've already used it exclusively at a wedding (without the 28-200, 50mm and 35mm zooms) and I've been delighted with the results - sharp, clear and bright! I can already say that this will be my go-to lens. Thank you for the great service and the great product!

Pros
  • Inspires confidence
Cons
  • Working speed

Assortment for the price! Excellent

I've bought this lens 4 times already (I'm selling it to friends and family with the idea of an upgrade and it keeps falling into my hands). Unbeatable range for the price! This is a solid and reliable lens. Just make sure you buy the one that has the accurate description! These old lentils are prone to fungus if left uncared for, so watch out! It's snappy and moderately fast (not lightning fast) and the macro feature is more useful than you might think!

  • practical item

If you don't get one, you will regret it!

I bought it used from Revain about a month ago and am very happy with it. The seller only claimed it was in "good" condition, which caused me some concerns. But there was even a small scratch on the back of the lens. Having shot it with my D300 I have to say this is one of the best pieces of glass I have. On par with my 105 VR ED Macro and the classic but wonderful 70-200 VR I - all f2.8. If you can find one, buy it - I bought mine for $320 but now that I've used it I'd pay half or double that.

Pros
  • Top marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • The list will be long.

This is my favorite lens now

I paid a little more than they sell on eBay. However, this lens is now my favorite lens. Despite being an old lens, it reproduces color like no other lens I own, including the Nikkor 50mm and Tamron 70-200mm. The macro function is very useful. Some may say that this is not a real macro. However, I can get within a few inches of an object and that's enough for me. It's built like a tank, it's very sharp and I love the way you zoom with this lens. The only thing I don't like, but also doesn't…

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Poorly thought out

A wonderful lens at an affordable price.

I love this lens. As an amateur, I love the affordable, professional-quality FX lenses. Wanted 24-70 f2.8 but couldn't justify the cost. Then I bought this lens. I've been using this lens for 3 months and it has worked well with my D610 at all focal lengths. The picture quality is amazing and it's clear. Some people complain about blurring, but a few adjustments to the image's contrast and saturation sliders and you're done. Pros: Affordable, sharp, great IQ, fast focusing, good build quality…

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Slightly torn

Sturdy and well built, but heavy.

Not enough superlatives for the quality and sharpness of this lens or its low light performance. Almost all the photos I've taken with him are very good, and some are just great. However, using this lens more often has two disadvantages. The first is the weight of the lens itself. It's fine to use at home or elsewhere for a short time, but inconvenient to carry around for long periods of time, to travel, or even to keep still for long periods of time. The second (and least important) fact is…
