Valuable purchase, nothing but pluses!

That's where I used to be?! How was it possible to shoot on the miserable Samyang 8mm (folk fish - cheap and cheerful), and even changing 4 copies in search of the least soapy and comatose! Nikon is Nikon - this small but brutal "plug" with a record MDF 2cm simply breaks the template with its sharpness and the ability to shoot unique macro angles. Its dimensions on the Sony NEX camera allow you to put it inside many interesting places - for example, a computer system unit, a cabinet showcase…

Pros
  • 1) Phenomenal sharpness and micro-detail for fisheye. It rings in the center already from 2.8 - in focus it collects light to a point without any signs of coma or decentering, like the poor Samyang 8mm 2) Very nice film color rendering especially on ancient CCDs 3) The presence of autofocus, which is still accurate and fast 4) Super compact - in combination with the Nikon D40, this is the most compact mirror fisheye combination possible 5) Record-breaking small MDF for fish! TWO CM from the front lens to the object ! This allows you to shoot incredible macro still lifes at close range! This is really a full-fledged macro-fish. 6) High build quality - everything is at the level of the professional Nikkor 2.8G series
Cons
  • 1) Very strong chromatic aberrations, especially around the periphery - do not disappear until F11. Samyang does not have them at all from 5.6 in the center and 11 along the edges - all the same, the old optics betray themselves. 2) Stupid cover made of plastic that scratches the lens hood 3) The nature of the distortion is for an amateur - it is very different from Samyang, it fills up the lines more strongly and twists the bokeh 4) Insane price 775 USD at the time of the announcement. But now what prevents it from being bought for 12-17 thousand on the Bu market ?

An interesting and useful lens.

I've always wanted a fisheye, but losing about $700 for a lens that could only be used occasionally made me hesitate. When I finally decided to ditch the hammer (and credit card) I figured if I bought one I would definitely use it a lot. I only use prime lenses on my D7000, I started photography in the 70's when zooms weren't that great and when I go out I only use one lens on my camera. The most popular lens is 35 f1.8 and my second is 85 f3.5 micro. From time to time I mount 50 f1.8. Once I…

Pros
  • Close focus to almost 5.5 inches
Cons
  • Good, but not great

A very impressive lens. Use Capture NX for post-processing

I bought this lens to use with my D80 and new D300. I mainly photograph landscapes in nature, nature and events. The 10.5 fisheye lens is fantastic, sharp and gives you a perspective like no other lens you have. I shoot with my 12-24 and 18-200, but now I shoot at 10.5 when I really want to see a bigger perspective. Come closer. It focuses at about 6 inches, so get close and change the angle for a better composition. It's really good for a beautiful sunset with far reaching clouds. The secret…

Pros
  • Innovative CRC (Low Beam Correction) technology delivers consistently clear and sharp images
Cons
  • Annoys

Reliable fisheye lens for today's digital platform

As a longtime fisheye enthusiast, I realized this was a must when I made the transition from film to digital. First, it's a full-frame fisheye. A normal fisheye does not yet exist in the Nikon "G" series. The difference is that a full fisheye has an all-round view of 180 degrees (or even >180 in some cases) in the circle that fits in the frame (leaving a significant full black vignette around the image circle). These full-frame fisheye lenses are primarily used in meteorology and…

Pros
  • Non-magnification lens
Cons
  • Modern

Fun and fast for SLR lenses

Many real photography websites have reviewed this lens in all details and dimensions, so I will not try to duplicate them. Fun. Opens up many interesting creative possibilities. Perfect measurement with every Nikon DX. Fast enough to shoot indoors without a flash. Cons: Autofocus doesn't work on most consumer cameras. Correct metering or exposure does not work with older film cameras. Does not cover the entire sensor of an FX or film camera. Direct flash cannot be used. Who should buy this…

Pros
  • 180 degree diagonal field of view
Cons
  • Appearance

Great value for the money, definitely recommended!

This is the optimal lens for shooting spherical panoramas with a cropped sensor: it gives a wide angle of view while maintaining high detail (golden mean). You can also take traditional photos. If you correctly compose the frame, then the distortion will not be so noticeable. Shoot in RAW and that's it! We correct HA and vignetting there. I chose between him and a similar Sigma. As a result, I preferred Nikon, which I do not regret. However, if you have the opportunity to conduct a full-scale

Pros
  • Standard advantages for fish: large depth of field, aperture, detail. This is the first fish for CROP. I got up on the old D200 like a native.
Cons
  • Not resistant to glare. If the sun is shining brightly and you want to shoot the sky, glare is almost inevitable. I shoot 360gr panoramas (including the sky) and I have enough glare with it. Monstrous HA at the edges of the frame, where distortion is maximum. Strong vignetting. Very noisy. It focuses quickly, but there is no ultrasonic motor (as in some Sigmas). Could have been cheaper, but it's a Nikon.

I am amazed at how well the product is made, just magically!

It so happened that I took my second-hand copy for a wild freebie (I would not have taken it more expensive). I took it for fun. Used on Nikon D3100 (without screwdriver) with manual AF, but this is not a problem. As a rule, I set it to infinity and everything was in focus. Then I used it on the D7000, where AF could be used. In general, the lens is funny, but if you take it to indulge, I recommend buying cheaper options (Example: Zenitar MC 16 mm f/ 2.8 Fish-Eye) or even renting it for a…

Pros
  • - Aperture - sharp - nimble - Compact - Light
Cons
  • - Price Once again the price. - Noisy - AF "screwdriver" - Often catches glare
