Excellent device, suitable for SLR camera lenses

Works very well with my camera (D300). My camera unit is an older model and this item works great with the unit. Not all devices work with the D300's autofocus, but this one does. Stay away from the P models if you have a D300 as they are not designed to work together.

Pros
  • Worth the money
Cons
  • old

The first one sounded like a small motor was running all the time.

this is the second one I have bought, the first one sounded like it had a small engine running all the time and it caused horrible images. The second one I bought worked well and my wife loves her camera again.

Pros
  • Best in its niche
Cons
  • For the old

Faster and quieter good for photos and photos

This lens is much better than the old AF-S version. It is much quieter and faster when focusing. It's accurate too. The compact design is also a big plus. I can carry a much smaller bag. The biggest thing I have to get used to is rotating the lens to the open position before using it.

Pros
  • Absolute legend
Cons
  • Low repairability

Great lens for the money

Very good lens and takes great pictures for a lens at this price. I have a Nikon D7500 camera and it works great. The only drawback for prospective buyers: it does not work with all Nikon cameras. Make sure it works for you or you will be very disappointed.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Has issues

The foldable lens is more of a quirk than a feature

I like the idea of having the lens 'fold' to save space, but it's more of an annoyance than anything. The lens is fairly sharp over the entire length of the lens and the price is right. Not my favorite lens, but good for "walking".

Pros
  • Nice to use
Cons
  • Can hurt

Works perfectly. fits camera lens

I use it with D7500. The results seem excellent. I have a D3200 and it doesn't focus with it. I knew beforehand. Do your homework on compatible cameras. It's going to be small - you use that round knob on the lens to lock it in a small travel size. Very quiet and fast focusing. I've heard it's good for videos, but haven't tried it yet. Again very light and small which is great for travel! I had the VR1 version (no af-p) but I can sell the older one.

One of the best kit lenses on the market right now

Great lens. Very fast autofocus and quite sharp throughout. The only thing to watch out for is compatibility with older Nikon DSLRs. But it's actually a nice upgrade to the 18-55 VR II lens that came with the D3300 (you'll need to update the D3300's firmware to make it work with this lens). And it's much better for focusing in movies. In fact, the only minor complaint is that you have to go into the menu to toggle image stabilization on or off. I wish they had kept it as a physical dial on the…

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Can't remember
