I use it with D7500. The results seem excellent. I have a D3200 and it doesn't focus with it. I knew beforehand. Do your homework on compatible cameras. It's going to be small - you use that round knob on the lens to lock it in a small travel size. Very quiet and fast focusing. I've heard it's good for videos, but haven't tried it yet. Again very light and small which is great for travel! I had the VR1 version (no af-p) but I can sell the older one.
