5 stars for SLR lenses

Excellent lens. With my Z7 it focuses instantly and the images come out very clear! Distortion and vignette were negligible. perfect colour. The only downside would be that it's big because unlike Canon it's an internal zoom?

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Frequency

Very fast and sharp focusing

I took this lens on a hike and am very happy with the quality of the images I get. The focus is very fast, quiet and sharp! I was happy to have a big opening in the forest. With Zoom, I don't have to crawl through poison ivy to get the wildflower shot I want.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Safety

Big and heavy but great quality

This should be one of the biggest and heaviest 70-200mm lenses I've ever bought BUT it's f/2.8 and the image quality is amazing. I knew it was big when I bought it, but I didn't expect it to be as big and heavy as it turned out to be. Great for tripod work, but you'll want to carry it in your backpack.

Pros
  • Great overall performance
Cons
  • Alright

Totally wrong Post

Someone really just wrote that the lens is "(VR doesn't work on Z6 or Z7)". What are you talking about? Why did you even print that? Practically designed for the Z6 and Z7, the NIKKOR 70-200mm 2-8 VR is perhaps the best 70-200 ever made. You may want to read the manual for your camera and lens and learn how to operate your equipment. And if you just hear Nikon trolled, posting such blatant lies is harmful to everyone.

Pros
  • Lots of positive vibes

VR not working on Z6 or Z7

This is a good value for money Nikkor lens. Uses DX format so you don't benefit from a full sensor on a Z6 or Z7. It'll do most of the shots I take and it's a good lens to have in your bag, but it's essential. My disappointment was that vibration reduction doesn't work on the Z6, so there's no stabilization. I don't know if that will put me off buying it, but it means I'll have to use it in situations where I can either put it on a tripod or stabilize it on a surface if I go for the full 200mm.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Update available

I've always hesitated to buy a 70-200 f/2.8 zoom lens for a DSLR given the size and weight. The Nikon Z6 is much lighter than a DSLR, so it was decided to pair it with a 2.8 zoom. The 24-70 2.8 S was the reason I switched to Nikon mirrorless cameras and has been the only lens on the Z6 since day one. After a long wait, the 70-200 2.8 S is finally available. In short, this is another great lens in the Nikon S family. I don't mind that it's made in Thailand and comes with a US warranty card in…

Pros
  • Excellent build
Cons
  • Power outlet required
