I used them in a normal washing machine after washing them with Nikwax Rug Wash. Then air dried. Pretty easy to use, but you have to use a lot. One bottle only holds 2 full size blankets or 4 mini blankets. But my horses were warm and dry all winter.

Nikwax makes a product that does an excellent job of cleaning my horse rugs AND helping to keep the waterproofing. The only criticism I have is the SUPER SUPER SMALL imprint on the bottle! It's so hard to read I need a magnifying glass to read the instructions. Also, I absolutely HATE math. Converting centimeters, milliliters, etc. is a real problem.

Some years old washed horse rugs with stubborn urine and faecal stains. Made blankets that I thought needed replacing fresh and clean. Reduces unsightly blemishes to a barely noticeable appearance. If you didn't know the stains were there, you wouldn't notice them without a thorough inspection. Removes odors from mold that has been stored for a long time. Happy with the product and will buy again.
