Arrived on time, fits right over the HEPA filter and definitely catches more dust and helps with infrequent orders. it works, it also seems to extend the life of the filter, the filter is a bit older than the char booster and doesn't contain as much junk as it was before the char booster was added, so it seems to be working for me.

Product description is grossly wrong and $10 is not worth going through Amazon's return system. So I ordered this product for my model 242 air purifier to replace the carbon pre-filter. The description doesn't say it isn't a 1 for 1 replacement. This filter only fits on the cartridge and you have to use those nifty velcro straps to keep it in place. **updated on 9/2019**These little filters appear to be true to the ad and are coated or made from powdered activated carbon and are very thin. The fineness is probably good, so when combined with a traditional filter media, it won't block too much air for the air purifier's motor to suck it in.
