Good Simple Quiet Fan Hard Shell

Good quality fan. Not as much static pressure as the NF-9x14 (due to lower top speed and blade configuration), but it's quieter and pushes the same amount of air at the right RPM. No accessories, no rubber corners or anti-vibration mounts, just four metal screws. But you get everything that makes the fan itself great at a much lower price. The only thing I don't like about this fan is the cable grommet. I don't know why they use such a cheap hard braid for their fans (and accessories), but I'd…

Replaced an old noisy fan in a PC power supply.

I have an old refurbished commercial HP box that still works. This is a tank. I recently upgraded the processor to a used $16 95w quad core Phenom processor with 8GB RAM. The old box will probably be used as a media streamer for another 10 years. However, the PS fan was very noisy when I increased its speed to keep up with the HOT Phenom chip. Being HP and completely proprietary I couldn't just replace PS. This fan solved the problem and the box maintains a stable temperature of 40°C when…

On the fly upgrade results in less PC noise for better gaming

So my Zotac GTX 1060 had a single fan and because it has small fins it has to spin very quickly to let the air through the heatsink. When playing RDR2, the fan had to be set to 100% to lower the temperature, but this detracts from my gaming experience. I want to hear horses gallop, birds chirp, rabbits cry, fall from a direct blow. Do you understand. When the original fan itself actually started making EXTRA noise due to failure of its internal bearing, hearing that loud spinning noise only got

Didn't work for me - case fan

Didn't work for me. I installed this in my new Acer TC-885. I was happy to get the PWM fan option and this product has many 5 star reviews. Long story short: Installed and connected to the 4-pin case fan connector. didn't work. Twisted for a moment during POST and then nothing. PWM was enabled in the bios, but the fan status said N/A. I disabled PWM and on reboot the fan spins to full speed. It sounded like a Boeing 747 taking off. Returned the fan (Revain does a great job with returns! Love…

Don't know if that's how it's supposed to work?

I recently got a gray 92mm fan with a 4-pin connector. Plugged into the "SYS Fan" header on my Acer Aspire TC885 UA-91 motherboard (another PC reviewer TC885 seemed to have problems with this fan as well). I didn't see the fan spinning during a cold boot. After booting up I run the CPUID HWMonitor program and I don't see the new fan under Fan or PWM Fan. Disconnect the 4 pin connector and reconnect firmly, it was the same, no info, and the fan doesn't spin. However, after using the PC for over…

Surprisingly quiet fan

I decided on an "almost" silent PC because I didn't want to give up fans, but I wanted the fans to run very slowly (or turn off) during normal operation. was quiet, and only when the action was intense did the fans get going. During this process I have used 5 different fan models from 3 different companies and Noctua's NF-Bx range is my favorite and best value for money. The NF-Ax series fans are slightly better, but not enough to justify the roughly 50% increase in cost unless you need the…
