🍳 Nordic Ware 2-Cup Microwave Egg Poacher for Quick and Easy Cooking Review

This product makes it easy to cook poached eggs in the microwave. The problem is that it's difficult to pinpoint the cooking time, and most of the time I hear the sound of an egg exploding after carefully following the instructions. It might take a dozen eggs to understand the process: the yolk is cooked at a higher temperature than the white. The big downside is that it cannot be washed in the dishwasher!

I have two of them in stock somewhere. I make breakfast sandwiches for my group that will put Mickey D to shame. No, I'm not giving you my prescription. But these "two-egg microwaves" can do more than just eggs. With two of these and a toaster I can prepare a complete and delicious breakfast for four in ten minutes. Everyone likes it so much it has become a standard breakfast at my house. Good buy, five stars.

Reading the reviews I was concerned about how well the poacher would work. However, we had one a year ago and needed a replacement so I ordered. As long as you follow the directions exactly, specifically piercing the yolk, adding 1/2 teaspoon of water, and most importantly omitting after microwaving, it all works great. Of course, all microwaves are different, so be patient. I only wish they would make a 4 egg version.

Makes morning breakfast quick and easy. When you're in a hurry and need some brain power. Eggs get your brain working along with a cup of coffee. You'll be happier with a hot breakfast and less likely to get angry on the way to work. So buy a few for each family member so you can all think straight in the morning and remind yourself that they are made in the USA and are helping support the men and women of your country. Update: After the fourth use, this new design confirmed my suspicions. This new design is definitely cheaper. The plastic has deformed. It's no longer airtight and doesn't even close completely. Now it's useless. First review: I paid $3 more for this poacher because the picture shows an older lock design. The poacher I received is a cheaper non-blocking design. The interlock design is much better to prevent your eggs from exploding in the microwave.

This is not a good buy as I ordered 2 at the same time and they both have the same problem: handles that latch and STAY CLOSED do NOT both immediately pop open, the only way I could use was to put rubber bands on the handles. I didn't return them because I only eat poached eggs for breakfast, my last poacher broke, I didn't have another one and I needed breakfast and I've used them to the best of my ability, but I will never buy these types of eggs from poachers again.

***UPDATE*** October 12th, 2021 Lid often gets stuck which is very annoying in the morning. If you play around with it properly, it will eventually open all the way, but more often than not it will snap into place. Otherwise it's still a good product. I bought one of these years ago and the lid hinges broke. I was happy with it, even my kids could make a quick breakfast by themselves. My suggestion: 1. Spray/rub some oil on the bottom and top cups of your egg in the cup (less dishes). 3. Prick…
