Effortlessly Open Jars with Norpro Red Silicone Flexible Jar Opener Review

This little silicone pad is thicker than I thought it would be and very strong. The quality is excellent, there is no feeling of tearing. I use it to open cans, works like a champ. Highly recommended. I order more for the warehouse staff.

We both have arthritis in our hands and this jar opener is great for helping us hold the lid and open the jar. It's a good size, large enough to bypass large lids. The price is great too. And you can wash it off if food gets on it.

I keep trying to replace the one I bought at the Honolulu Craft Fair many years ago. There was even a magnet on the back, which is still there. It is made of neoprene, a material used in wetsuits. This is the second silicone I've bought and they all fit plastic bottle caps. Please, anyone who sells neoprene can openers!

We had other similar bottle openers but they were thinner and made of inferior material. It's just the right thickness to provide a good grip, but not too thick which would make it awkward to use. And it's very high quality silicone - should last a long time. It also serves as a pot holder, as silicone is very heat resistant.

Although this is a great can opener I use it on my rollators with a hard plastic seat. If you use a rollator, you know that when you put something on the seat to carry it to the counter, it's easy to slip off. First, put the can opener on the seat and put the plate on it. Due to the friction, it stays in place and does not slip. I hope this tip helps people who need to use a rollator.
