Description of Norton Japanese Style Combination Waterstone 8 Inch

This combination sharpening stone is essential for maintaining cutting edges on tools, kitchen knives and other sharp edges. This Tool and Knife Sharpener is a dual grit sharpening whetstone with 4000 grit on one face for maintaining and refining, and 8000 grit on the opposite for polishing razor sharp edges. This waterstone, also known as a whetstone, can be used to create an abrasive slurry - a timeless and unsurpassed knife sharpening method. Using water as lubricant instead of oil, this whetstone is easy to clean and actually requires less force to sharpen than an oil stone. This tool and knife sharpening whetstone is 1 x 8 x 3 inch size (H x W x D), is great for use as a bench stone for kitchen knives, a utility knife, tools and more. Includes a sharpening stone whetstone holder and case with rubber feet that allows easy and safe stabilization when sharpening.

Essential tool for DIY razor sharpening

Norton 24336 Reversible Waterstone is an essential tool for the razor hobbyist who also wants to sharpen their own blades. The double stones provide the two levels of grit needed to bring the razor to a fine edge, ready for honing. The stone comes with its own storage container which also doubles as a holder/reservoir for the water you use with the stone. I've always had great success with stone in the past, but sadly I lost my old one in the chaos of life. my house, so I ordered a new one. I…

Good value for money

Good wide wet stone, very thin (4000) and polish (8000). Size 3x8 inches. Large enough for your 10" chef's knives or bowie blades. This stone was not flat from the factory and required grinding. Maybe it was seconds, and if you didn't know how to check the stone or how to restore it, it would cause problems for the user. A small problem is that both sides are made in different countries. and the 4000 grit side is much softer and wears out significantly faster, requiring resanding of the surface

Pros
  • Tools and household goods
Cons
  • Long delivery time

GREAT.TOP.GREAT in Power & Hand Tools

I used a piece of antique tile with a smooth finish (8000-10,000 grit) to sharpen my razors, knives, etc. for many years. It seemed to be made of powder, it was so thin. But over the years a slight "slack" has built up on the surface, so I've decided to replace it. I wasn't expecting to find anything that matched on the market, but this 8000 grit is pretty close. Not as good, but close. This double sided stone works really great. If you let the edge go a little too far, the 4000 grit prepares…
