I use L-lysine to reduce the time it takes to appear and reduce the severity of cold sores. It works GREAT. The quality and price of this product is excellent for my needs.

This is the first time I have ordered this brand of L-Lysine and the pills are starting to break down before I even take them! I put the weekly dose in a container of vitamins that I keep in a cool/dry place and on Tuesday (I fill the container on Sunday) the pills started to crumble. Not super comfortable.

I personally use it for herpes and shingles. Once I feel cold sores starting I take one pill every two hours until I feel better, then reduce the number of pills to a smaller amount until I feel like my cold sore is leaving and keep that Crowd there until she heals. It also controls shingles! Again, I personally need two doses of 1000mg per day, one in the morning and one in the evening to prevent shingles.
