For some, L-lysine helps prevent shingles.

I've been taking L-lysine regularly to neutralize the L-argenine found in legumes (which H. zoster loves) since I had a bad case of shingles a few years ago. I hate getting shot for shingles, I'd rather deal with the threat of nutrition and it's working.

Prevents Stomatitis

I have been taking lysine for about 25 years after learning from a colleague that it helps with ulcers. It helps with mine. If I'm done and I can only go a few days without lysine, I'll get ulcers. I recently switched to this brand and haven't had any issues, so it's working. ;) Now I never get stomatitis unless I accidentally bite the inside of my mouth.

They're perfect for those who have a hard time swallowing those huge 1000s.

Very hard to find 1000mg CAPSULES. They are perfect for those having a hard time swallowing those huge 1000mg pills! I use for herpes and it's better than any drug available! Much better! I only get herpes a few times a year but I hate them! Whenever I have the feeling that something is coming, I take 8000. That starts the healing process immediately! I started with 2000 but found what works for me. However, I don't take them every day. Hope that helps.
