Nutrafin Iron 0.0-1.0 mg/L Test Kit for Freshwater and Saltwater - 50 Tests Review

The chelated iron test works well in the lower range, but sometimes I get a color that is 0.25 inch *tint* if you move the tube half an inch from stick to a white background, but the intensity is too bright for the "credulous" 0.25 that I see often. However, if you hold the tube flat relative to the chart (as stated), it will match *nothing* in hue. I really need to know if it's 0.5 or 1.0 as higher levels will require a water change.

Almost all iron test kits on the market are currently rated 4 stars or lower for various reasons. I chose this one because it was recommended by several aquarium websites and the price was reasonable. Unfortunately, they no longer provide the measuring spoon in the kit that is necessary to get accurate readings when testing chelated iron. There is a lot of skepticism about iron testing on the internet so I wasn't sure if I should try this test kit. I am happy to say that I am very happy with my experience with him. You must be realistic in your expectations and understand that these colorimetric tests that you read by eye will not give you much accuracy.
