Frustrating Quality Issues with Portable Probe

The Industrial and Scientific probe seemed to be a viable option for at-home substance analysis but fell short. The probe was inconsistent with readings, riddled with errors and malfunctions, and ultimately a detriment to the analysis process. The only positive aspect was the lightweight design. However, this did not excuse the unreliable functioning of the probe. Overall, I would not recommend this product and suggest investing in a more trustworthy option.

Pros
  • Accurate pH measurement for precise testing.
Cons
  • Requires frequent calibration for consistent accuracy.

very inconsistent and unreliable

I have had many problems with this sensor/meter. This would give significantly different readings for the same fluid sample, despite cleaning between tests and several other troubleshooting methods. Given 1 star because it's useless to a scientist if unreliable. Do not use this for quantitative measurements

Pros
  • One year trial
Cons
  • Available in white only

Thought the second was a spell. . .

The first lasted two weeks and stopped working. I just got the second one. I've tried calibrating it but it behaves like it has a short circuit and keeps restarting (like the first one). I bought it as an upgrade to an Oakton pH meter. (I've had three of these, but they only last about a year before the sensor fails.) I expected great results from the very expensive Oakton 5+, but my experience with this gauge was poor. I won't buy another one of these.

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Piggy bank price
