Great for travel - camera and photo

I bought this to replace an obsolete Vanguard ball head. I also wanted something smaller for a travel tripod. The ball head looks very well made. The rubber grips on the shoe reduce the chance of it coming off the camera and the screw can be adjusted manually without tools, making it very travel friendly. Holds my Canon 6D and 70-200 with no problems. I would recommend this ball head and maybe get a second one for my tripod.

Does not fit properly on standard Arca-Swiss camera plate or .

Does not fit properly on the standard Arca-Swiss camera platform or L-mount, although advertised as Arca-Swiss compatible. It barely fits on the plate that comes with it. It looks well made, except that the grooves that should grip the platter or L-bracket aren't positioned to fully engage the platter. I wouldn't trust him to capture anything. If only they had made the gripping mechanism a little deeper it would have been 4 stars. I had to go back.

Good ball head: tripods and monopods

good ball head, given the price you can almost give 5 stars. I bought this to pair with my Platypus Pro Max Mini Stand/Tripod. I already have a great Kirk BH-3 ball head for four times this price but I wanted something portable, durable and not too expensive. Holds my Nikon D600 well with a 24-70 2.8 lens. You have to tighten it, but it holds up well. I have attached a photo. There seems to be a misunderstanding about compatibility with other quick release plates. The Oben BE-117 works great…
