Ready to Use

I was surprised at how well it works! Unlike other reviews, in my case I didn't have to change anything about his physique. Used on Volvo s70 '98.

Pros
  • Generates Confidence
Cons
  • Communication with Seller

No Oil System Tool Grip Rubber

4 stars just because an important part of the product is missing, the grip rubber. This worked very well even though I wrapped the filter in rubber material.

Pros
  • Heavy Duty
Cons
  • No Automatic

Buy a Lisle Filter Wrench Instead

This tool is absolutely useless if your filter is in a tight space. I bought a Lisle wrench and it works great with one hand in a tight engine compartment.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Not the best

Doesn't work best in oil filter wrenches

Looking hit or miss from all the reviews. Got it for my 2013 Honda Civic EX but it wasn't sticking to the sides of the oil filter at all. I had to wrap a bunch of tape around the filter to really hold it by the sides. I do not recommend. Unless you have a bunch of duct tape I guess. Doesn't work as advertised.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Slightly torn

That works great. He grips very well. On my bike the filter was stuck and when it got stuck it started to bend in the filter from being grabbed. I was very pleased. The only time I had problems was with my brother's bike. I don't think it's the filters, but the manufacturer made the filter too narrow. I tried…

Unusable until you mod it -

Had one for many years, worked great but steel center gear eventually broke. This one turned out to be similar, so I ordered it without reading the reviews first. My original, I just needed to sharpen my jaws. In this case, you need to bend and sharpen the jaws so that the leading edge touches the filter first, and then the trailing edge grabs and holds the filter. I used a vise, narrow nose pliers, and an air sander with a 3" wheel. The rubber caps of others like this one slip off, tear, and…

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Speed
