The thing is very cheaply made, the terminal pulls out every time and stays in the plug and you only see the spark at a small angle. Definitely not intended for professionals.

Bought to check an outboard engine for spark. Spark plugs are fairly standard size (Champion QL77JC4). This is the cheapest crap I've ever seen. First, the tip doesn't stay in the plastic at all. Tilt it and the pen falls out! I got it to work by inserting locking rings in grooves above and below the plastic to hold it in place, but found the screw on the brass metal cap was too small for regular spark plug boots. OK. So I unscrewed it and unscrewed the spark plug cap. It worked once until the locking rings broke. So I sent it back for an exchange and they sent me a second, equally defective…
