To cut the legs you will need some very good SHARP pliers. They are durable and perfect for a hot stapler. Already recommended to a friend for repairing ATV/UTV plastics. Otherwise, if a floor repair is even possible, you will need a Dremel or sander to smooth the repair.

I bought this to have on hand for repairs. I ended up using them 3-4 times to fix items like a cracked plastic office chair back, a large rubber trash can, and the front panel of my closed car trailer. They worked just as well as the one that came with it when I bought my hot stapler. I highly recommend them

These wire clips are made from the right material and ensure a strong repair. However, these "aftermarket" brackets do not have the "break" area of the original brackets (included). The original staples have narrowed sections, causing the ends of the staples to break away from the repaired surface. Without them, removing the ends of the wires requires using another tool to grind the ends down so they are flush with the surface being repaired. Or a file will be needed to make a notch on each end
