Description of πŸ“· Olympus M ED 9-18mm f/4.0-5.6 Micro Four Thirds Lens - International Version (No Warranty) for Olympus & Panasonic MFT Digital Camera

Ideally suited for: Landscape, travel, nature and architecture - equivalent to a 18-36 mm 35 mm lens. The unusually fast and quiet autofocus of the MSC mechanism is ideal for subtle photo and video recording. With a length of only 49.5 mm, the ultra wide angle zoom proves to be a compact and lightweight companion on every journey. Outstanding image quality, despite very compact design with pin-sharp images right up to the edges of the image. Ideal processing and high quality metal bayonet.

Good, but not ideal for SLR cameras. Lenses

lens is good but 7-18 would be much better. It's not wide enough for all purposes. I don't really block the unlock feature. I find it annoying and I'm not sure why they have it. Image quality, construction and focus are the same as all Olympus lenses, excellent. It's also small and very compact.

Small and lightweight, easy to carry

Bought to shoot with a wider perspective in outdoor landscape or building photography. The lens is small and light so it's not heavy at all to carry around, and it's actually quite fast and sharp. I use Olympus OMD EM5 with this one. Buy the international version as it is the same and really a bit cheaper.

Low price and fast delivery with international version

I saved $100 by purchasing this international version of the lens which I think is a lot. As far as I can tell, the only difference is that it's not covered by a long-term warranty. But if it arrived broken I could still return it. I was concerned that Revain estimated it could take over a month to ship, but it got from Asia to San Francisco in less than 48 hours. Wow! Ordered through "CW US". Other sellers may vary. I've only taken a few shots with the lens so far, but it seems to work well…

Good wide angle lens for the price

I chose this lens after seeing the price of the 7-14mm lens I originally wanted. However, the difference in wide angle FOV isn't enough to make a difference in most cases and I'm not complaining about only 40% of the cost! The lens is ideal for outdoor and well-lit indoor shots, while still being wide enough to capture most indoor shots where you want to capture most of a room or a large group of people. I found that I like the range (equivalent to 18-36mm in 35mm). At its longest setting, this

Small, light and pretty sharp

As of July 2015, there are only 3 ultra wide angle zoom options for Micro Four Thirds: this lens (Olympus 9-18mm), Panasonic 7-14mm F4 and Olympus 7 -14mm F2.8. I chose 9-18 mm. It's small, light, sharp enough and supports filters. It was this lens that drew me to the Micro Four Thirds format. The Panasonic 7-14mm is said to be sharper, especially in the corners, than the 9-18mm. It's also much bigger, heavier and slightly more expensive. In addition, filters are not suitable for 7-14 mm. And…
