The best camera! good for Point & Shoot digital cameras

Just buy it! I used to always buy a Canon but after changing 3 Canon cameras in 2 years I decided to go in a different direction. I really love this camera! I take it everywhere and it takes beautiful photos and high quality videos. My favorite feature is the zoom. Last week I was at a small lake with my family and was able to get high quality close-up photos of my kids from the other side of the lake! Definitely worth the money. I also bought batteries for it as well as a thicker strap for…

Works well in some situations

This camera works well in most situations except for fast-moving targets. I bought this to photograph my son's basketball and volleyball games. There aren't many manual settings available, and even at the highest ISO or automatic (sports) settings, you'll have a hard time getting an image that isn't blurry. Indoor lighting can be an issue in a gym. As other reviewers have pointed out, this camera drains the batteries very quickly. This requires 4 AA batteries, which you will hardly run out of…

The photography is great, especially in good light

I didn't spend much time mastering all the functions. The photography is good, especially in good light. I took it to a party to take some photos and it didn't come out the way I wanted it to. I had it on auto after a few failed attempts but still got blurry photos from the film and danced. It wasn't fast enough to capture the moment. It might take me more time to learn, but I got used to my Sony pocket camera pretty quickly, so hopefully I can do it with this one. Here are some photos I took…

Olympus has a winner

How can they make such a great camera for the price? I paid 156€ for mine. The 40s meant nothing to me. You can pretty much target a bird from around 30 yards away. The stabilization feature might not be the greatest. When the zoom is pulled all the way back and I'm holding the camera in my hand, I can't suppress the slight shake. Maybe you need to adapt? I'm still in the learning phase. I bought rechargeable batteries to solve the battery issue some people are complaining about. To attach the…

Great for photos of jewelry and gemstones

I've been using this camera for a few weeks now and I love how easy it is to get complex shots with light reflections off gemstones. It's basically as simple as point and click! The settings and menus are not difficult to understand at all. Even without a tripod I get good pictures. No flashlights, reflectors, extensions, filters or lens changes required. The special effects work just as well, I especially like the soft and paint effects. The super macro function doesn't really manually focus…

Great everyday camera

I had a smaller Olympus that I really liked, so when it came time to replace it I decided on this model. Captures crisp, clear photos. I took it to photograph the moon last month and they came out very sharp and clear. At the same time, I took some shots with a Cannon EOS using the larger of my two lenses and a tripod. Olympus photos taken handheld with a smaller telephoto lens were much better. For batteries, I use silver lithium batteries, which last quite a long time. I've taken over 800…

Amazing camera in Camera & Photo

I am an avid amateur photographer with a strong affinity for digital photography as well as HDR photography. How much do I like this camera? This is my third. Sad story but I put my first one on my jeep before heading off into the sunset. My second was just as fantastic as the first. I liked it so much that I gave it to my niece. I'm on my third now and I still love this thing. I have a more expensive DSLR that I've used most of the time, but when I want to take advantage of that 40x zoom lens,

GREAT EXPECTATIONS. but disappointed

I had a previous OLYMPUS camera (model 570UZ) for a few years and was very happy with the features and photos I got from this camera, so I was so excited at the prospect of owning this "updated" OLYMPUS 820UZ that I actually saved up for months to raise enough money to buy it. When I received the package my first reaction was very disappointing as the camera felt so light and cheap even compared to my older model. The battery/data card door didn't feel tangible (plastic) and was VERY loose - so
