Great compact 300mm zoom camera

I wanted a camera that had it all and this Olympus came closer than any other camera. What I like about this camera: 1. It's small and light2. The electronic viewfinder is fantastic3. The touch screen is convenient for taking pictures and controlling the focus point.4. Image quality is excellent for a camera of this size.5. Good zoom range from 28mm to 300mm. I have a camera that is over 800mm focal length, but it's difficult to hold it still enough to get a good picture, so 300mm is enough for

Expensive but worth it!

I love this camera. I've had a lot of Sony A33, Panasonic G5 DSLRs; Zooms Panasonic FZ 40 and 150, Canon G12 and Panasonic & Sony but it's my most used camera at the moment. Probably because the electronic viewfinder is so fantastic - a clear and bright image. I mostly shoot with the EVF and this is the best of all my cameras. The camera is lightweight and fairly easy to hold; I wish the grip was a little bigger and my hands are small. My only criticism of the menu system is that it's…

Like the camera and the photo

I really like it. I'd say I like it, but I haven't had enough time to experiment with its many features. I bought it because after many happy years I ditched my Lumix zoom camera and it gave me a reason to climb up to get many of the features I was missing. For example, this Olympus composites images on either its superb screen or its nifty electronic viewfinder for the bright sun. It can be used both manually and with automatic settings. It has excellent picture quality. It has a very large…

Great digital camera camera

I'm most interested in photography and have had many cameras over the years. Before purchasing the Olympus Stylus 1, I relied on a multi-lens Canon DSLR Rebel XSi for general use and a Nikon Coolpix S9700 for travel. Both are excellent cameras; However, there are times when I don't want to lug around a bulky Canon and the Nikon, while great for travel, doesn't have a viewfinder, which I miss. So I decided to go with the bridge camera. Stylus 1. I've had this for a few months now and can't get…

New and much better camera after January 15, 2015 firmware update v2

January 15, 2015 firmware v2 made this camera new. super zoom. I bought a TCON-17 teleconverter and some extra batteries, all from Revain. I have to say I was ambivalent about the camera. I had a lot of trouble getting the auto focus to focus. With facial recognition on and two friends a few feet away, it instead focused on two models on a poster in the store behind glass more than 40 feet away. I have to say they were faces, just not the right faces. In any case, after the release of firmware…

Very nice bridge camera.

Excellent camera. I have a DSLR that is a bit dated and was craving some of the new features. I'm just an amateur photographer, but I often enjoy this hobby. However, with all the changes to mirrorless cameras lately, I couldn't see myself buying a new body and lens set until things calmed down a bit. So I thought I'd try to get by with a smaller sensor first. and that I might get a portability benefit. So far (2 months) I have been very happy with my purchase. I've been on 2 trips since…

Overall just a great camera

Olympus Stylus 1 Pros and Cons PROS: -Extremely sensitive autofocus in all conditions -Great battery life -Very good image quality (but noise is consistent with other cameras with relatively small 1/1.7" sensor) - Pretty decent optical quality for the lens considering its range (albeit a bit soft at telephoto - but that's not uncommon for this type of lens) - Image stabilization works well - Touch autofocus works good - Good electronic viewfinder - even in low light -Two zoom levers -Very…
