Like every other early YJ 4.2L oil filler cap, this part isn't worth a penny. The spacer is 1/2 the OEM thickness. waste of money.

Worked well, I ended up replacing the o-ring with an old o-ring and using new plastic. It was on my 89 YJ 2.5L to seal the valve cover filler hole.

The oil cap is not durable. I bought one last year and just got back from a trip last weekend where I had to fix this mess with tape because it wasn't sticking and was vibrating. Luckily I found it in my engine bay. Bad thing that happens 50 miles from the nearest paved road. I can't tell how much dirt got into my engine between the time I lost it and when I noticed oil leaking from the valve cover. Specs: 1990 Jeep Cherokee 4.0 liter I6.

This oil filler cap fits Jeep 2.5. Black plastic, rubber seal. Fits in the hole it was designed for in the top of the valve cover. This oil cap prevents oil from leaking out of the engine during operation or when the engine is upside down. The oil cap can be easily removed to allow oil to be added. Pros: The lid is black, which hides dirt and grime. Disadvantages: ineffective as a floating vehicle in the event of a water landing. What else can you say? That's an oil cap.
