🔒 AKITA 5038 Bicycle Cable Lock by ONGUARD Review

I've been using this lock for about 5 weeks and it's excellent. It is a good length and easily goes through the bike rack as well as both bikes. The cable is flexible and easy to use and store. I would recommend it without hesitation.

I totally agree with the previous review that the buttons are sharp. Sharp to the point that they are not very comfortable to wear. The lock itself is excellent but if I had listened to another review I would have bought a different brand lock.

Great lock, solid construction. Much thicker than it looks in the picture! Solid lock for the price. I bought it but my bike got lost in the post so it's being stored until I order a new one. Actually bought one for my sister and she loves it. Although the cable is thicker than it appears in the picture, it is actually very flexible and not a problem to manage unlike other cable locks I've had. The keys are a little sharp, as other reviewers have noted, but that doesn't bother me too much.

This lock would be perfect if it weren't for a fatal flaw. The lock is not working properly. At first everything was fine, but over time the key stopped opening the lock. This bike lock is much thicker than the picture. The actual locking mechanism is HUGE and the steel cable is quite thick. So it's heavier than expected, which is good. Also, contrary to the description, the lock comes with five REGULAR keys. NO backlit keys. The keys are also quite sharp. Sharp enough to cut through fabric, so keeping your key in your pocket is probably not a good idea unless you like pockets with holes.
