Description of 📸 Opteka M900: 71-Inch 5 Section Ultra Heavy Duty Monopod - Max Load 30 lbs

TAKING HEAVY-DUTY TO THE NEXT LEVEL: Thick leg sections constructed from BA aluminum alloy allows maximum loads of up to 30lbs. This design provides a extremely sturdy, strong support that gives you a feeling of complete control when used on a shoot. HEAD OR NO HEAD: A metal mounting screw allows you to attach any camera or any head directly to the monopod via a dual 1/4'' - 3/8'' camera fixing screw. A large 2.36" platform totally eliminates any wobble. COMFORT FOR EXTENDED USAGE: A comfortable hand grip allows a secure hold when setting up or moving the monopod from one location to another. The grip's padding helps reduce fatigue and allows hours of extended usage. A built-in wrist strap protects against drops and allows hands-free carrying. EASY TO USE: Take the monopod with you to get photos on the go using a convenient folding system that reduces it quickly down the five robust sections. It also features a lever leg lock system that features quick action to get it ready in a flash. COMPATIBILITY: All DSLR, mirrorless, video cameras and all other cameras with an 1/4"-20 & 3/8"-16 tripod hole.

Wow, that thing is heavy!

Wow, that thing is reliable! I didn't want to buy any of the tripod/monopod conversions because sometimes I have to drive to my clients quickly and just don't have time to disassemble/assemble tripods and monopods. I also wanted to make sure I had a solid monopod because I didn't want my shots to shake or move and I wanted to be comfortable because my Nikon D750 was secure! This Opteka monopod is just the ticket! This thing is strong, durable and well built! It's definitely a bit heavier than…

Up to 30 pounds? No, I don't think so.

Excellent high. It was great to have a monopod that adjusts the camera to my height so I don't have to constantly bend down. Well it would. This unit continued to shrink. I had a Canon 5D Mark III, 70-200mm 2.8 lens, tripod head and flash (max weight 15lbs but I know less), but the monopod couldn't last more than 5 minutes. After that, the sections continued to collapse. It was second from the bottom. I used the monopod for 39 minutes and 34 of those minutes was a headache. I had to constantly…

Great for my needs

I've had a 67" Dolica WT-1003 monopod for over 2 years and it's worked really well for me. It's starting to show signs of wear as it's been through the Weight slid down and the bag's zip came unzipped. It didn't take much for me to use my Nikon D5100 camera with professional battery grip and Manfrotto 498RC2 quick release ball head to take photos and video my son's sporting events. An extra few inches is handy (mine is 6ft 3 inches tall) if you're shooting in the stands. When folded it takes up…

Fix that blurry image

For me, photography includes children's sports, bands, hiking and other occasions. I recently upgraded my telephoto lens to a faster version, which meant a lot more weight and more of a challenge holding the camera steady. Using a tripod in cross-country competitions doesn't really work, so a monopod was the solution. I wanted something durable and wearable but didn't want to spend a lot of money as it is a rare item. After extensive research, the choice fell on the Opteka M900. This is a…

Sturdy and foldable with light weight.

I have looked at more than 30 other monopods. I needed one that I could use as a walking stick (I just had a knee replacement and I'm going to Greece/Italy soon) and as a monopod that folds up for travel but isn't too heavy. I didn't want to spend a fortune either. This monopod weighs just over 1 1/2 pounds (27 ounces), which is still small for such a sturdy monopod. It's big enough that you can use it as a walking stick without extending the bottom 1 or 2 sections. Used like this, it's like…

Fixed spring loaded threaded mount after 3 years of use

Use this mainly for DSLR (Canon 7D) with 70-200 and video. I say I used it for indoor sports photography about 10 times a year. Everything was fine until the threaded fastener came loose and finally got into the body of the monopod. I figured this is it - it's broken. Well, in a few hours. THIS IS FIXED so wanted to share what I did to fix it. (Believe me, that was what I could find at home, so keep that in mind :-)). Also note that this isn't as easy to do as with some monopods where you can…
