I just got tired of putting the connector near the bottom on the engine to see if I had sparks or not and I was running out of people to talk to could talk and stuck the plug wire in to see if it shocked her and then laughed the whole time while I deflected the punches to my head (haha). Just plug it in and tie it to a good ground so you don't see it when you have a spark. Removes all doubts and pain (might even save some friendships lol).

I saw a demonstration of this unit in an online how-to video when I wasn't sure if the out of service condition on a piece of equipment was fuel related or Spark. The device is inexpensive and much easier than trying to hold a spark plug, pull the starter cable and see if there is a spark. It's easy to use and has everything you need to take a test without getting electrocuted.

Fixed my alternator with this. Installed in series with the spark plug. the spark was orange. Should have been blue. He pulled out a candle and looked at it under a magnifying glass - viola - black dirt inside. I cleaned it and the bluish spare, and the generator was removed from the first jerk. Note - the candle may or may not look fairly clean to the naked eye.

Works great but the clear sight glass keeps flying out. It arrived with clear round sight glasses on both sides. I put them back in and they stayed as long as the tool didn't move during the test. As soon as you don't hold the tool, it hangs freely and both sight glasses have jumped out again. Looks like I'll have to apply some kind of glue to hold them in place. Aside from the sight glass issue, the tool works great and will come in handy. Be careful not to hit the metal rods of the spark plug

First it should be a Prime item; I ordered it on Thursday, it was delivered next Wednesday so for Prime 2 days delivery. Second, I have used Oregon products for many years and have never had a problem with their chains or bars for my saws. The product works, but an adjustment was needed on my part, the product did not arrive fully assembled (the lenses for the spark chamber were in the box, is ok), the clip to attach the tester to the engine ground fell apart on the first use.
