I had to use a furring strip with this due to irregular stud placement - no problem. I put a spare piece of vinyl plank flooring underneath for the inevitable tool-falling situation. If a tool get jostled even slightly as you pull one next to it out, it will slip all the way to the floor. This is exactly what I was looking for. The thing I liked most about this is that you have the option to either use it as one continuous 48 inch piece or three 16 inch individual racks. For my application I decided to use them individually. They also include caps on the end if you do decide to go that route. It’s easy enough to install it by yourself if you do it that way. I received this versatile storage system and intended it to be installed in the garage but I thought our shed would be better for garden tools. It took about 10 minutes or less to install it and that made me very happy. I am going to buy another one so all the tools will be off the floor.

My second purchase of a similar product. The last was left at my old house and so in my new shed, I opted to use it again. It holds a variety of tools, so long as that they are not too heavy. It holds my regular household and garden tools off the floor and keeps things off the floor.

Installation was fairly easy. Although, I installed the strips upside down compared to the instructions, accidentally. I don’t think it matters since I ended up not using the little hooks, only the shovel grippers.One garden tool slipped in the gripper. Not sure if it is too skinny or too lightweight.Definitely worked the way I needed it to work. My garage is so much more organized now that shovels and garden tools are up and out of the way.
