Compact and works well as a heatsink

This unit is more compact than most, made of aluminum and if the SSD has the right part I think thermal pads on it, the heat from the unit will be fine tolerated and dissipated through the metal housing. Uses a USB-C connection instead of the old micro-USB variety. I liked it so much that I got another one.

Excellent Engineering - Hard Drive Enclosure

I've only had experience with this enclosure but I would say it is well constructed and performs exactly as advertised. Some reviews say it gets very hot. I didn't have this experience migrating an image from my 250G laptop to a 1TB Samsung 980 that I installed in an enclosure. I didn't even feel it warm up during the process.

Almost a work of art

I liked the first one so much that I ordered the second one. These slim little bodies are well built and very slim. The instructions were a bit difficult to follow but I found how to do it on youtube. You'll need to lift the board to secure it with a small stop and screw. Then the whole thing is fixed very well with an external screw. In general, the installation only takes a minute. I have noticed that these cases get very hot during use. The problem is related to very thin thermal pads inside

Died after a few months - support is not good.

Trying to find out if something has less than half a year warranty is like grinding your teeth with this company. Either I've been moved between departments multiple times, or support doesn't like reading past email history. I just wanted to know if this product is under warranty and if they will support their product. You just won't answer the question. At the end, they told me: "Dear customer, I am sorry for the troubles you caused. The product may be defective if you contact the store where…

It's getting hot, and not for nothing

Writing information onto this disc is getting hot! This is normal as NVME consumes power to write data. And since the case also acts as a cooler, don't touch it, it will be hot to the touch. When you read information, you can touch it. It will be warm to the touch but not scalding. It takes less energy to read information, so it doesn't get as hot. Nonetheless. It's written very quickly. It took 20 minutes to write a little less than a tarabit of information on it via the USB-C port. And yes…

Pros
  • Handsfree

I was very impressed with the build quality of the case, easy to install with all the tools and screws provided. Mac, did a speed test with the Blackmagic Disk Speedtest Tool and it showed 950 up and down - I was happy! Today I decided to transfer some ISO images totaling around 40GB with my Windows 7 laptop via USB3 and left it at that (estimated time 24 minutes). ) but when I came back 20 minutes later there was an error on the screen but the drive was gone from Windows Explorer. I went to…
