Disappointing - Poor quality.

The power connector was very weak and broke when I installed it. I noticed that it flexed as I aligned the power connector, but it immediately detached from the board as soon as it started plugging in. I've installed so many cards over the years I just didn't expect this to be a problem for a quality product. Very disappointed.

X570 PCIE 4.0 1.7Gb/s Motherboard for Oculus Quest 2

The power connector started breaking off when I plugged in the SATA power supply. The card does not fit well in the case and appears to be partially bent. He can't charge Quest 2 enough while playing, so he's slowly dying. When using the official Oculus Link cable, the speed was much slower than advertised.

  • Durable finish
Cons
  • Don't really like it, it's ok

Use fast external PCIe drives without changing your motherboard.

Product is easy to install and works as advertised on my Windows 10 and Gigabyte X570 Xtreme motherboard. Be very careful when connecting the SATA cable to the card as the connector feels fragile and moves a little. Please note that you need to install it in at least one PCIe X4 or higher slot (X8 and X16 also work) to get high speed. With many mainboards, the X1 slots are only free when a graphics card is installed in its high-speed slot. Installation in the X1 slot limits the speed of the…

Great for Oculus Quest 2

I bought this product on purpose because I needed a dedicated USB-C powered option for longer VR immersions with my Oculus Quest 2 via the Quest Link cable. So far I'm very satisfied after a four hour VR session without any major issues. I'm using an Asus X570 Prime Pro motherboard, which offers a USB-C option right on the back, but the connector shares the USB bus with other USB devices, meaning bandwidth and bandwidth are shared. This caused frame stability issues and my headset stopped…

The best external upgrade for your computer

Welcome to the new generation of external hardware in 2021 Your old USB ports are too slow for the new devices coming online today. It's time to upgrade to higher external speeds via the USB port. Make sure you stop using those old USB cables. These speeds require bandwidth that these older USB cables cannot support. It's possible that in the future there will be other external hardware to surpass the speed of this external device, but for now this is an external device upgrade that you must…

The power connection is defective.

The power connector broke off when I connected the SATA cable to it. It was soldered correctly and I doubt the quality control. Other than that, the card performed better than my 2nd Gen 10 Gigabit USB-C port. When transferring from an external 2x2 NVME SSD, I was able to get around 1.6 gigabytes per second. If it wasn't for the poor build quality this would be a decent card for 2x2 speeds.

  • Free for educational purposes

Big increase in performance

I bought this expansion card to use with my Oculus Quest 2 VR headset. When I play games, I usually work 5-8 hours at a time. Even when plugged into a USB 3.0 port, it will eventually shut down. This board, when paired with a USB-C 3.1Gen2 cable (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B083DGC3Q3/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1), greatly improved battery life. After 5 hours of play, my battery only dropped to 97%. But please be careful with this card and that's also the reason I had…
