I put this on my cross/gravel bike.

I installed this on my 1x10 motocross/gravel bike and it works great. I have not yet reset the chain with this guide installed. Only works on round tube frames. I don't think I would try it on carbon frames, only steel, titanium or alloys. There is a trend towards 1x setups for simplicity and combined with a wide rear cassette, why not!?

Decent customization, works pretty well

Has lots of customization so you can get it working in many scenarios. So far it manages quite well to keep the chain in the middle of the triple crank where I removed the derailleur which has limited space due to the fact that the other rings of the chain are still there. One punch was enough for him to jump over the guard rail, but that only happened once on the road, before that he had fallen every few trips.

Pros
  • Comfortable
Cons
  • Frequency

Reliable and wide enough guided guide

It's wide enough to be easily centered and not rub on the chain, no matter the gear. I bought a different brand chain guide which I ended up returning because I couldn't center the guide so it wouldn't rub against my chain in top or bottom gear. I have a 9 speed cassette and this chain guide keeps the chain in place even on very bumpy descents. I have a clutch derailleur, but it's usually good for a hardtail to have something small on the chainring to keep the chain from falling off. Since theโ€ฆ

Works, double suspension may require some modifications

Sooo, didn't fit. BUT! But I drilled through the frame and installed it just above the swingarm. I pretty much knew my Track Fuel ex6(?) wouldn't fit this part due to its construction. But as the picture shows, one long screw and small hole later and this guy works great! The basic construction is solid, the crescent shaped plastic part of the chain holder is perfectly shaped to guide the chain back to the sprocket. I have experienced torture on sections of the trail where my chain has alwaysโ€ฆ

Poor execution of a great idea

This chain guide looked exactly what I needed after converting my bike to a 1x drivetrain by removing the front derailleur and middle sprocket. The item is easy to assemble and fits well. It worked great (the chains didn't fall off) until it broke. The problem is that it broke after about 20 km. If you can't afford to spend $32 every 20 miles, I recommend looking elsewhere. I tried to contact the seller after my chain guide broke and they didn't respond. It's been over a week since I contactedโ€ฆ

A small detail for a little peace of mind

I installed an Origin8 Torqlite UL Mini Clamp chain guide on my MTB when I decided to upgrade my drive train. I needed a chain guide for my new SHIMANO FC-M640 Zee 10-speed crankset. Installation was easy, just position the chain guide over the chain and sprocket and then tighten the 2 bolts on the chain guide, one for vertical positioning on the seat tube and one for horizontal positioning (distance from frame). So far, so good. I had no problems with the chain dropping. I don't anticipateโ€ฆ

Based on someone who has been through hell.

If you are dropping your chain it is probably because your chain line is not perfect and you will likely need a different bottom bracket setting, different sprocket spacing or a variation of both because you have chosen 1X gearing . This conductor is amazing. This was absolutely necessary before upgrading my cranks because kicking the chain off the railroad tracks and bigger bumps, I've had nightmares of bumpy San Diego roads and my chain snapping off the cogs. This chain guide, when properlyโ€ฆ

Powered by 42T - Parts and Components

This thing is money! Before I added this to my gravel bike, the State All-Road 4130, my chain broke every time I hit a semi-steep trail. Yes, I have everything set up correctly and my front derailleur does not have a clutch mechanism. I've probably ridden at least 600 miles with this chainguard so far with no problems. I ride my gravel bike everywhere from rocky, rooted solo roads to drops, logs and jumps, and this thing has held up great. Not the most streamlined look, but functionality is top

Does the job, works great on the 42T ring

Overall I like it, does what it's supposed to do. I have an e-bike with a single 42t ring in the front and am having a chain drop issue. A dropped chain is not only frustrating but can also be dangerous, so I knew something had to be done. I had the same problem on another bike a while ago and installed a Paul Components chain holder on it. The bottom is by far the best piece of equipment, much better finished and all good alloy. However, it was MUCH more expensive than when I bought it, and Iโ€ฆ
