This set exceeded my expectations! I only used it to reapply the tip to my natural thumbnail. The nail was already snapped and I tried to seal/reinforce it with super glue and a tea bag. Apparently it didn't work very well and the entire tip of the nail broke off. I applied 3 coats of glue and powder because I wanted enough glue to be polished without losing strength. I've been using Orly Nail Rescuer for my thumbnail for over a year. A crack formed which saved it from tearing completely. I've finally gotten to the point where my nail won't break anymore. I think it's basically super glue that you paint on with the brush that comes with it (like nail polish) and then immediately dip your wet nail into the powder. APPLY 2 COATS! First I just applied a layer of glue and then dipped my nail. MAKE SURE YOU LET IT DRY COMPLETELY! and it lasted about an hour then it fell apart so i did it again. ADD GLUE ACROSS THE GAP IN THE CRACK AND UNDER THE NAILS. It holds everything together the second time you dip it and it's been holding up great for 2 weeks now with no extra attention needed! I'm a male so I don't know much about nail products. I know my nails chip and when a crack catches on something I usually lose a piece of the nail. My wife suggested this as a solution and it works very well. Apply some liquid, dip your nail in the powder, let dry, buff and repeat the process. Then it's good to work with an acrylic overlay for a while. It breaks down in a few weeks, but hey, the product lasts about a century.

I had two splits, one vertical and one horizontal. The set worked surprisingly well on vertical cracks, but I had to reapply on horizontal cracks. Although I followed the instructions exactly and painted my nails well, it took me 3 coats of nail polish to get my nails shiny instead of matte. File is kind of a joke, but I knew it would be one.
