Works right out of the box and requires no setup. The card reading function is accurate and fast. For the price you can't do much better.

Only 2 stars because I don't know if it's my fault but it doesn't work on my system, it reads and writes POS access cards but not credit cards.

We use it for customers who pay in person but want to do it through our website. The reader immediately enters their card number in a form on our website. Good product.

Works very well with PC; It will automatically recognize it as a keyboard, and when you swipe the card, the data will be entered automatically, as if you typed it yourself. However, I had trouble getting my Mac to recognize the reader, which is why I'm keeping the asterisk here.

I think it may have been user error but in our defense we bought the same card reader a year ago but received a different reader. We use it every day at work but wanted a backup. Of course, this one still works well, which is why we tried to buy the same model. We got another version of the same product a year ago but the new one couldn't make it work. Installation was as easy as plugging it in. Windows will recognize it as a keyboard input device and you can start scanning right away. I've found that this basically only works one way. I could get it to scan in the opposite direction with mixed results or just get half the data. I would also like a rubber base to keep it in place as in my application I didn't want it to be permanently fixed. You can easily add Velcro or double-sided tape. While it didn't work for my intended use, it worked as
