1. I have read reviews on this waffle maker and it is apparent that many people who write reviews do not read the instructions. It's teflon coated and nothing will stick to it if you "bake it in" before first use - as you should with all teflon coated pans etc.2. You are buying a Teflon coated product so anything cooked in it will have the typical texture that Teflon provides. As I write this review, I have just received my third Easter waffle maker. #2 still works but is well used and they were on the $14 flash sale today. This is a very simple device that requires a little learning. There's no ON/OFF button, there's no timer, it's kinda small and doesn't click.
