OTC 3636 Heavy Duty Circuit Tester Review

This is the second product. I bought one for work and I liked it so much I bought another one for home. Without exception the highest quality 12 volt probe on the market! The cords on these things will last for many years. Cheap ones break in a few years. Ergonomics are great too

Much better than my cheap auto parts tester. The tip is sharper which means less damage to the wire and the flexible coiled cord is a VERY nice addition. I keep another one as a backup but it won't be reused when this one is around.

Excellent fit and finish. Great product if you have planned well to diagnose an electrical problem in your car. The clamp at the end of the cable doesn't open too far just to let you know and it didn't come with an extra test light like other products but overall great quality.

I am very impressed I thought it was a cheap fake but when I opened it I found it to be of good quality I tested it and the light works as it should and the cord is very long I tested and the bulb is very easy to change on this test light model, it also comes with a handy refillable case which I find amazing.

I have an ohms/amps/volt meter but often I just want to quickly check if there is juice or not. This makes it easy to see where you've lost power flow, and it's reliable use. I've only used it in 6 volt systems before, but even full power from battery post to battery post does not burn out the bulb. I deducted a star because wider opening jaws make grounding easier.

worked right away and lit up very well. The wiring and copper terminal are not the best quality there, but with proper care they will last a very long time. I also like the fact that most of the probe is insulated, which can help prevent shorts when making contact between very close wires/circuits. The case is made of very transparent plastic of quite good quality. I was very happy with my purchase.

This is a test lamp and it works well. It's sharp, the clip holds well and the twisted line is nice. insulated shaft is a nice touch. but. Lightbulb is red. And while it glows quite well at 12V, it's not very visible. It doesn't light up the whole clear button like my old (and very worn out) test light. So you have to LOOK at it somehow, not just see it burn. I'll probably swap out the lightbulb for something more traditional, I don't know.
