OTC Pulley/Installer

Well made tool kit for removing various automotive pulleys. No problem removing a few power steering pump pulleys. various investments. If you have never used such a tool, then you need to do some research.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Not as thick as others

It broke on first use

We all know how tough power steering pulleys are. Unfortunately, this metal tool is of poor quality. When I try to push the p/s pulley in, the plug that screws into the hp pump shaft breaks off and part of the tool gets stuck in the p/s pump shaft. I don't recommend this tool, it left me stuck in the middle of a job.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Not sure

Okay but there were some minor issues with the jaws fitting the pulley.

As the name suggests, to attach the sleeve I had to tap each half lightly with a hammer, otherwise it would just come loose during use. Then hit with a punch and off you go. All parts appear to be well constructed and come with a nice die cast body. I used it on my 1998 5.9 liter Jeep Grand Cherokee. Works with original and aftermarket pulleys.

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • Good, but not very good
