Description of ๐Ÿ”ง OTC 4568 2.5-5.25" 3-Prong Self-Adjusting Oil Filter Removal Tool

OTC's 3-prong self-adjusting oil filter wrench features 3 arms that adjust to fit a wide range of filter sizes, making this a very flexible tool for the workplace or home shop. Knurled legs provide extra gripping power; rotation of the tool adjusts the the legs tightly against the filter. Fits filters ranging from 2-1/2 inches to 5-1/4 inches (65 mm to 135 mm) in diameter. To turn the tool use a 1/2 inch drive ratchet in the ratchet drive or a 13/16 inch wrench or socket on the nut.

Difficult to use: oil filter wrench

I have 3 cars, each with oil filters in different and hard to reach places. I thought this key would be useful for 2 of them - Toyota Echo and Hyundai Elantra. Unfortunately, it's very inconvenient to use in tight spaces as it doesn't have a knob to set it to a specific setting. The arms open wider and the wrench falls. Also the fact that the arms are at an angle causes grip issues (I think one of the other reviews took that into account). At this point I would not recommend buying it.

Works well: Oil filter wrench

This is the best adjustable final filter wrench I could find. Sometimes I have to trick him somehow to grab, but once he grabs, he rips them off every time. This requires a ratchet or 3/8 extension and comes with an adapter so you can use a .5 drive to really get stuck. It actually holds on to the extension like a socket. Others I've had only had a square hole to fit an extension cord, but it would fall out if turned upside down. Some of the ones I used to have are either not for sale anymoreโ€ฆ

I'd say it's ok

This product does what it's supposed to do and can remove oil filters of various sizes. it would be handy, but it fell off every few turns and wasn't safe. It's also not gentle like looped keys. Crushes the old oil filter. After all, it is very bulky and bulky. I used it on my zero turn mower and could barely fit in the area I was working. SO. Generally it works, it will last forever but if I had to do it again I would just buy a cheaper box wrench.

Wrenches under tools and equipment

How it works. Remove your filter. But there are several questions. It comes with three filter removers: small, medium and large. Small filter -> no problem, use a small one. Large filter -> No problem either, use a large one. But if you have something like 55-58mm then you are in trouble. Medium is too small and large is too much. You will make it, but it will be difficult. The second issue is that the handles are short and can be difficult to grab. I wish the interior was softer than the

Saved me from a big mess.

I have almost all the tools needed to remove oil filters (sockets, wrenches, pliers and clamps). I thought I had a big mess when the filter on a new used Trailblazer wouldn't budge. I was ready to rip the filter apart with a hammer and screwdriver when I found this online. I waited a few days for it to arrive and I'm glad I did. I've seen other reviews about tool slippage (correctable) or image mismatch (still good reviews), but mine arrived exactly as advertised. When I tried it I thought itโ€ฆ

Works with mod

I can't give this tool 5 stars because it doesn't work the way it is and I can't give it a star because it's well built (e.g. durable). Read on to find out how to get this tool up and running. First, the one I received is not exactly the one in the picture. The lever ends in the picture look more like sandpaper trains, while the one I got just had deep grooves on the levers (and it's not all silver, for what it's worth). That being said I don't think it will matter as the real issue is theโ€ฆ
