OTC 4652 Stinger Adjustable Holding Review

I choose this OTC product because for the price it gets the job done and saves me time. This makes the work very easy and costs money. Don't waste time looking for your own holding tool and just buy one, which will save you a lot of time.

The OTC 4652 tool I received is different from the picture I ordered. The tool shows the correct model number, but this is a different design. The end of the locating jaw has a different design/curvature and will not work with my machine. The nuts on my machine are countersunk, so I wanted this tool with about an inch of countersunk ends to grab and secure the bolts. I could not force this tool to fix the screws to counteract. A misleading image.

Pretty good tool. I used it to hold a pulley on a 6.4L PowerStroke and it worked fine. A ratchet isn't designed to hold any kind of force, so you need to be sure you're using the tool in the right direction (like a wrench, they're only designed to transmit torque in one direction). came in a cardboard box, unlike most over the counter tools and loaners I've tried before purchasing which come in a plastic box. COMPLETE TRASH! I tried using this for the first time today. The creator of this tool thought it would be "fun" to set up this ratchet to adjust the tool. THAT DOES NOT WORK ! Great tool! FYI, OTC 4652 is actually the same as OEM TOOLS 27171 (the same tool you would rent from an auto parts store), NOT what you see in the picture. Each fork has four holes and the hooks are long. I was surprised and happy because the one in the picture would be almost useless for most applications as the hooks would not reach most bolt patterns.
