complete garbage. off scale. impossible to calibrate

Mine got to -5 with the needle alone. Shit. There is no way to calibrate. As a result, I opened everything up and started looking for some kind of calibration screw. Nothing. The needle is glued to the shank, which points to zero when at rest, with AC glue. Spring. I unclipped the needle and cup and re-glued them, pointing AC to zero. Who knows, maybe I screwed something up. To hell with the warranty and also the manufacturer. I will test the sensor with a calibrated vacuum source that I have…

Pros
  • Accuracy difficult to find problems like broken lines
Cons
  • There are new competitors

Happy to report a zero reading

Hooray I failed the calibration and when not in use it reads a perfect reading at zero. I had to replace the one I had after it fell into my radiator fan (different brand/parts store)! It's cool that it does the fuel pressure, but I'm already one of them so it's just for the vacuum. This is required to set the idle mixture on the 72 C10 Chev Quadrajet! It's also larger than my spare and most importantly has a bracket for hanging - maybe now I won't drop it in my radiator fan! Because it's…

Pros
  • Quick diagnosis of internal engine problems such as bad valve rings and leaking head gaskets
Cons
  • Not an automatic

I had to buy this one as a replacement because my technician left another one (which I had for 15 years) in a customer's engine bay which was then lost when walking with it . I've seen and worked on many cars with carburetors where this sensor has helped me get idle air mixtures right or diagnose PB issues after installing soft/aggressive cams. Not sure how this new one will perform, but the one my tech lost; I actually ran my car over once - just cracked the face but still accurate enough to…

Pros
  • The perfect kit for checking vacuum lines and components
Cons
  • Almost never

Good Vacuum Gauge/Bad Fuel Gauge

If you need a vacuum gauge, this will do. If you need a fuel pressure sensor, this is not what you need. The reason is that the fuel gauge stops at 15 psi. Virtually any fuel pump will deliver 40 to 65 psi, if not a little more, for racing or high performance applications. So if you have a weak fuel pump that's supposed to put out 40psi when it's actually pushing 20psi the highest gauge will show 15psi so that's good. As for the vacuum side of this thing. It works with fuel adapters, I mean…
