Used this tool to rebuild the top of my 2003 Expedition 5.4L SOHC. and installing the head, especially if you're not pulling on the engine. If the engine is not pulled out, then there is nowhere to remove the camshaft lifters, and the valves are raised. 2 are required to complete the task. Worth every penny

This was perfect for my 2003 Mustang GT. Keep cams in place when replacing guides, tensioner and chain. Works with any 4.6 5.4 modular engine. This is not in the application list but you just need to place the holder in the center of the camshaft where there is no cam holder. The perfect tool for the job. We discussed the purchase and after trying it I highly recommend it. For those looking to replace timing chains, this is a must-have tool. Holds the kama in place without moving. I don't leave

Take it from the guy who PAYS NO MONEY and tried it without this essential tool. Unless you're doing a complete cylinder head replacement where you can be absolutely sure of the valve and cam position, or you're not a very experienced mechanic and don't know that particular engine well enough to determine the valve…
