Great tool! - Tools and Equipment

I watched the video on this product and realized that this is the best tool for the job. My 2007 F-150 had a bad #6 spark plug. The truck has 160,000 miles on it. I decided to replace all spark plugs and coil packs. After the coil packs were separated, I filled the rack spark plug well with Kroil penetrating oil. After removing the last coil I went to the first connector and it came out with no problems. 4/8 came out very easy and the other 4 were a little harder due to availability. All 8 came

Be careful if you have a later 08' model year.

Great idea but after trying to make it work and doing some research here and other forums. it won't fit. My Expedition 08 was built on 07.10. The collet sits on top of the plunger but the base will not go all the way so it can only be used for removing porcelain. The bay on these later builds is deeper for some reason, or the SP509 connector is taller, and so it's basically useless, either for pulling out a broken connector that has come loose, or even just removing it. Bought Lisle instead and

Works as advertised

Already had a tool to remove blown spark plugs but there were two cylinders that had all of the ceramic insulator intact after the spark plug was removed. This tool successfully removed the entire insulator on one connector but broke the insulator on the second connector. I am responsible for this as I probably overtightened the tool before removing the insulator. It's a little tricky to tighten the tool around the top of the connector - I had to insert a screwdriver in the hole to keep the…

Facilitates changing connectors on the 3V Triton.

I recently purchased this Triton 3v 5.4 engine tuning tool and am very happy with it. The truck I worked on still had the original 140k spark plugs. If you know the build history of this fork, you also know that most owners have already changed forks twice and I have a lot to do. This tool was a life saver - removed all 8 plugs without breaking a single one after 140,000 miles! I used this tool to unscrew (1/4 turn) each connector, then poured seafoam into the recess of the connector so that it

Don't even try to change the spark plug on F150 04-08 without this kit

Don't even try to change the spark plug on F150 04-08 without this kit. My 5.4-liter 2006 F150 rocked at 45 mph, which made your teeth chatter. If you accelerate it, it disappears. After doing some research on the F150 forums, I diagnosed it as excessive play in the connectors. The truck had 115,000 so I decided to change it. This kit eliminated some of the fears about the dreaded fork replacement. After watching a demo video I ordered a removal kit and 8 plugs. Do not order a Lisle kit to…

I bought a Lisle tool and an OTC 6918 spark plug removal kit to replace spark plugs on a 2006 Expedition. The OTC tool worked on some frozen plugs, but the Lisle tool was needed on some as well. Depending on where the cork breaks when you try to remove it, which tool will work best. Both served their purpose for their respective application. The best you can do is not to damage any of them and you don't need any tools. I found a YouTube video that recommended spraying penetrating oil, letting…

Nothing broke using this tool

Dustin, I don't know what went wrong but I can echo everyone else's positive experience. I couldn't find any information about this tool other than other people's comments below. Before I bought this I posted a question about how to turn a tool and stuff, Nick B. gave the best answer. The other two recommend using a 1/4" or 3/8" ratchet. A little more detail might help those who hesitate. The narrow/thick part (top/left of picture) has a 9/16" socket on the end and runs along the hex of the…
