OTC 7077 Axle Stud Plier Review

Does what it says on the tin. Works perfectly. If you have an old Dodge truck with these cone washers, they are easy to remove.

This tool eliminates hub hitting, hub and axle metal damage, risk of bearing damage and branding your job as a cheap backyard workshop. I recommend this remedy unreservedly.

Does the job but less than the description says. The price is too high for this size. The addendum states that the OTCs that I thought were made in the US were made in Taiwan.

These are useful and worth considering when dealing with axle cones. It's important to understand that they don't pull the cone out of the axle flange, which is the hardest part. These pliers will help remove the cone from the bolt.

Trying to remove the tapered washers from the Kodiak rear axle bolts proved an impossible task. After much practical consideration, none of which worked or made any sense at all, this tool looked like the answer, like watching someone remove a conical washer, although my common sense said otherwise. There is no way you would flare out the conical washer screwed into the hole which is pressed against the screw shoulder and hub hole. So maybe I missed something? After spending $35 I waited a few…
