Looks like a boss. for Tools & Equipment

I had my doubts that this probe would work well, but it turned out to be completely unreasonable. Using a Rigol 200MHz benchtop oscilloscope I was able to get great waveforms and did coil and connector measurements on 4 vehicles. I can see the pickup's thin tip is REALLY useful as it gets under and through the parts to get to the head of the coil which I couldn't get to with a paddle probe. Very, very satisfied.

Perfect addition to my car diagnostic kit

Nice well made current probe, no issues with build quality or usage. I managed to capture the waveform from my COP on a Toyota Tundra within minutes of unboxing it. It also worked well when I examined the connector wires on my Kia Sportage. Works great with my Micsig Tbook Mini Oscilloscope. I looked at AESwave's suggestions and decided I like this design a lot more as I think this design offers a better overall build quality.

Works well but a bit bulky to place properly.

The probe works well with a cheap DSO-138 oscilloscope as shown in the picture. There's no reason why it shouldn't produce higher quality tracks with better amplitude. However, because the probe is round, it can be difficult to place it in the correct position over the coil. That's why it gets 4 stars. Other designs use a flat pin to make it clear where to place the pin. I'm going to mark mine with something to indicate how much of the probe should be over the coil.

This product works exactly as I expected. Many modern cars hide their ignition coils under the intake manifold, which can significantly increase the time it takes to diagnose something as simple as a single cylinder misfire, especially if the coil you suspect is bad is one , which requires removal of the intake manifold. . (Example: On a 2006 Toyota Sienna, cylinders 2, 4 and 6 are accessible at the front of the engine. Cylinders 1, 3 and 5 must be penetrated under the intake manifold). If youโ€ฆ
