I bought these for bottling kombucha but unfortunately none of the lids were airtight and my kombucha never got properly carbonated. I wish I had gone with flip top bottles.

I've been using these bottles for a long time and I'm very happy with them. I use them for the second fermentation of kombucha, then use a white chalk marker to write on the bottle how it tastes.

I bought these thinking that they have a wide neck which makes it easier to flavor kombucha. They don't have a wider mouth. That being said, the caps work well because you can open them slowly, which prevents the kombucha from blowing uncontrollably.

One of my kombucha bottles literally EXPLODED into a million pieces and spewed dark berry colored kombucha into my friend's kitchen in his newly built home. It took more than an hour to rid the sticky mass of broken glass and sticky liquid. UPDATE: They say they will refund my order. We will see.

I'm new to kombucha so I didn't want to risk using inferior bottles during the second fermentation. Because of the possibility of overkill. These bottles are worth the money. They are of excellent quality. I've completed two batches with no problems. The bonus funnel works great with bottles. They also easily fit on my fridge door for a final cool down.

The bottles are large, feel good in the hand and look great. I used to use screw cap bottles like this before, but I usually use screw caps because they are cheaper. While they look great and are reasonably priced, you get what you pay for. Of the four bottles that I received, only one was gas-tight and suitable for post-fermentation of kombucha.
