These are amazing pieces

I took them as the main protection for my pants when hunting in dense thickets that would wear out a pair of jeans in a day. I stuck them through 13 inches of snow and 15 miles of underbrush and they had only one thread extended. The buckles even rubbed through the chrome, but the fabric looked new. throw at them. Buy it!

Pros
  • Great for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Weight

The size chart was written by an idiot!

Still working. I was in deep snow and the bottoms of my jeans were dry. Whoever invented the sizing system should be fired. I am 6-2 years old and weigh 265 pounds. The size I ordered is too big for me. If I were a medium, I would love to meet a guy who wears very large ones. Stop asking people to order a size or two smaller and just correct your sizing system. And fire this guy. Not sure if I trust velcro for durability hence the 3 star rating. For $100, I expect these will be the very last…

The best leggings in stock

These OR crocodiles are extremely durable. This is our second pair. We bought our first pair over 4 years ago and have hiked in them every week, year round, in all weathers and very rough terrain ever since. In Southeast Idaho we travel through rocky (often lava) areas. Other spats just can't take the constant abuse of such conditions. Stones, snow and ice, mud etc. simply roll off the OR Crocodiles. When we wear them out - four or five years from now - we'll buy another pair. They're…

OR Expedition Croc Gaiters

I bought them in 2018 and had them. I used them for the first time this year 2020. You have done a great job. I wore them during deer hunting season to see if they would work in creeks and streams and they did great. I actually ran about 20 yards in a deep stream (over a foot of water) and didn't get my paints or boots wet. I wore 8 inch leather padded boots with Gore lettering on them. This combination worked just as well as my rubber boots. Also, they are durable as I have walked through…

Expensive but work

I used them at Rainier. I chose a medium size because I needed it to fit over climbing shoes and crampons and the size was a perfect fit. The leggings reach to the knee and fit perfectly over the winter trousers without slipping down. I don't think they will hold up as well with something thinner like skinny jeans or leggings. I wore a few waterproof layers so it's impossible to tell how any one piece performs on its own but they did their job and nothing got into my winter pants or boots. They

One size up unless your boots are too big

FYI I read a review on the OR website that mentioned a similar size for me and he did almost wanted to choose M. I talked to him. The rep is OR and he said L. So I wear 11.5-12 boots, my winter boots are 11.5 Asolo Titan GTX. I have size L in both Verglas and normal crocodiles. According to the size chart I should be size XL. I ordered an L from Expeditions and they are too "tight" at the bottom. I put them on my L Crocs and they're basically a full width of the Velcro wider. Almost 2 inches…

Pros
  • Great for a small home

  • Unusable features

Concerned about the material used for any part of this product.

I have to say I replaced the gaiters with no problem. Revain and OR were great. No issues and the next pair had no issues so I think they're good. The following weekend I took her out in the snow alone for a few hours. The pants stayed dry and warm. No problem - they are winners and just what I expected. I do want to mention that the material Outdoor Research uses to protect the boot strap from popping seems a bit flimsy. I wrapped the fabric in electrical tape to keep it from crumbling in the…

No wonder they are called "Expedition ".

On my last trip south, I trudged through Antarctica with them - and was by no means friendly to them. They worked flawlessly for weeks in temperatures that typically dropped below minus 50 degrees Fahrenheit. They survived climbing jagged pressed ice, long frozen metal ladders, ascending and descending heavy equipment, even "my legs are like jelly, I can't stop it" brushing with sharp crampons. Other - smaller - gaiters failed in much lighter conditions. I will never buy another sock again…
