I love that this oyster knife has a guard that stops the knife on the oyster hinge if it slips. The pocket is by no means the same quality as a knife.

Bought this knife for my chef daughter who also runs a food truck in Florida (fresh seafood is on the menu). This knife is theft. It has a full, noticeable and very strong odor - just what you need when fighting a strong oyster! We have Apalachicola oysters in our area and they can be difficult to open and a knife this strong and sturdy is a must. The handle is thin and long. It feels good in the hand and is well balanced. There is protection for hands and fingers, and the handle itself is very nice wood. It even comes in a genuine leather case with a belt loop for easy portability. Very good.
