THE BEST kitchen tongs!

If you're like me, tongs help with almost everything I cook in the kitchen. As a result, I now have a collection of 6 OXO pliers. I started with nylon nose pliers (suitable for enameled cast iron) and then discovered silicone nose pliers. After about a year of regular use, I can say with confidence that these are the best kitchen tongs I have ever used. Heat resistance, grip strength, build quality, and locking mechanism are top-notch. In my opinion, it's worth the extra money for such a…

Pros
  • Soft, non-slip grip with comfortable thumb rests
Cons
  • High price

Very satisfied! in kitchen and dining room

These are heavy duty tongs with a soft coating not only on the working end but also on the hand end. I will be using these with my copper core All Clad pans to prevent damage. I already love her! It is nice that they are very solidly processed. You are not skinny at all. The detent at the end of the pliers handle makes opening and closing easier. The metal in the temples is upside down so you don't get trapped. Yes, they are a bit more expensive, but they are worth it in my opinion. I chose…

I don't like small changes

Oxo is a great brand and overall I like these tongs. But when I first got a new one, I immediately felt something different in my hand. I removed my old one and noticed a few changes. The silicone base is higher, which I think is ok. However, the pliers are a bit wider and I immediately felt the difference with my slightly smaller hand. If you look at my photo, the old one is on the right and the new one is on the left. Bottom line, they're still good pliers, do the job, but just aren't as…

Cheap copy - don't waste your time and money!

I have a 9" OXO tong and I wanted to get another 12" tong. The tongs, labeled "Revain Prime," arrived from China in a couple of weeks. I will upload some photos to show that this is not a genuine OXO product. They are not marked "stainless steel" and not OXO. The heads are not firmly fixed and do not hold well. They're marked 'silicone', but their ends have started to melt in a medium-hot pan - they appear to be plastic; even the high quality nylon heads of other OXO tweezers. I didn't want to…

Pros
  • Dishwasher safe
Cons
  • Too long to wait

My pick of the best tongs in the kitchenware category

These are excellent quality tongs. I'm a fan of OXO kitchenware and tongs are no exception. I have tongs of all sizes: 9", 12" and 18" tongs. I have to say that the 12" silicone tipped version is my go-to when cooking. It's easy to handle all foods, the silicone tips won't scratch the non-stick pan and the silicone handles won't transfer heat. They close snugly and tightly for easy drawer storage by closing and pulling the ring from the top/back, and can be opened with one hand by simply…
