I think this product did a great job of restoring my dull and grizzled black suede ankle boots back to their original dark black color. (The only thing I would like to point out is that in order to use the paint for future use, you must purchase a new cotton "applicator" as it will dry out and have to be thrown away.) The paint lasted much longer on me than other reviews. said. I used about 1/6 bottle for two layers of suede boots. I would recommend applying 1 coat and then when it dries (2-3…

Great suede shoe color and easy to use

I had a pair of tan suede shoes that I loved but always wished I wore black to match most of my dark clothes (hey, it's New Jersey!). So they sat down. and sat down. And then I read an article about how to dye suede and I realized, dammit, I'm not wearing them anyway. Well, it was as simple as that, and this color was absolutely perfect, covering every last bit of tan on the outside of the shoe (who's looking at the inside of the sole? Plus, I didn't want to risk erasing it). Now I have nice…

Total disaster! for interior care

Warning! This dye is not permanent. It didn't say so on the packaging, but I wrongly assumed it wouldn't come loose, at least when you touched it. I bought this color to dye a very nice brown suede belt bag that I never wore because it didn't match my wardrobe. I paid $150 for a pack at a summer market a few years ago. The product was easy to apply and I liked the color after drying. This weekend. 2 weeks after painting. I used the package for the first time after coloring it. I put it on and…

Easy to use, bang bang and you've got a new pair of shoes!

I have a pair of beige suede Birkenstock sandals that have been heavily soiled over the years but are still in excellent condition. I thought it might be worth painting them black. This was an easy process if you're using painter's tape over the parts you don't want to paint. I didn't varnish the bottom as I thought it might rub off on my legs. I went over them twice with a handy little swab and gave them a few days to dry completely. Cleaning was easy and I am very happy with the result. I…

Pros
  • Brightens and restores faded suede and rough leather goods such as shoes, boots, bags, faux leather goods and more.
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options.

Extinguish! What now?!

Judging by other reviews, this doesn't happen often, but it happened to me. I used this on a new but weathered black leather sofa. Good, rather expensive furniture. Since my dog left scratches, we went for the weathered look. This product helped - the scratches almost disappeared. But we soon discovered (through twin babies) that the paint was coming off (from hands, face, clothes, etc!). After dyeing the pillows, I used a paper towel to prevent this from happening. No problem with dry paper…

Pros
  • Remains flexible once dry, will not peel, crack or rub off when dry.
Cons
  • The list will be long.
