Clamps work well and securely hold my toolbox to my truck. However, I had to modify it a bit. The studs are very long and protrude far from the bottom of the clamps. In theory, someone with pliers could turn it over and pry open the toolbox to steal/remove it. After tightening the clamps, I marked the screws and cut them with a hacksaw. Otherwise, I am very satisfied.

They really fit in the ticket! I had to drill new holes in my toolbox to get it working and I had to pry some sheet metal off my plastic bed liner to give the clamps some grip, but in the end I'm quite happy with how they fit these J-clamps. Quick Tip: Only tighten these clamps until you can no longer wiggle the bolt with your hand. A little tighter and you'll likely rip up the sheet metal of your bed.

I checked out the Weatherguard site and was amazed at the price of the replacement tool box brackets. These are steel and will rust in place. I switched trucks and wanted to move a tool box. After cutting off the old fasteners due to corrosion, I just couldn't imagine paying the asking price to use the factory originals. These fasteners are aluminum although the screws are steel.
